THE SPANISH ALPHABET CONSISTS OF THIRTY LETTERS.
IN ENGLISH WE HAVE TWENTY SIX LETTERS. THE FOUR NEW SPANISH LETTERS ARE
THE CH,LL, N ( is called a tilde. This gives a nasal sound to the n),
AND RR (a rolled r sound). THERE ARE FIVE VOWELS IN SPANISH, JUST AS IN
ENGLISH. THE SOUNDS ARE VERY SHARP AND DISTINCT. THE A IS SIMILAR TO
THE A IN THE ENGLISH WORD FATHER - SPANISH EXAMPLE ( PAPA). THE E SOUND
IS MUCH LIKE THE A IN THE ENGLISH WORD ABLE - SPANISH EXAMPLE ( FECHA).
THE I SOUND IS SIMILAR TO THE LONG E IN THE ENGLISH WORD EAT - SPANISH
EXAMPLE (SI). THE U SOUND IS MUCH LIKE THE U IN THE ENGLISH WORD RULE -
SPANISH EXAMPLE (SUMA).
BUENA SUERTE (GOOD LUCK!)
